Email support@plannook.app. Please tell us your iPhone model, iOS version and the PlanNook version (Settings, then About, in the app). Never send passwords or your share code in an email.
Delete your account and data
You can delete everything PlanNook holds about you from inside the app.
- Open PlanNook and tap Settings.
- Scroll to Account and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. This cannot be undone.
Deleting your account removes your family profile, children, events and settings from your device, and removes your PlanNook data from iCloud (CloudKit), including any shared calendars, share codes and playdate invites you created. People you shared with lose access.
Just deleting the app is not enough. Removing PlanNook from your home screen deletes what's stored on that device, but your data in iCloud stays until you use Delete Account. Use Delete Account first, then delete the app.
Can't open the app? Email support@plannook.app from the address linked to your account, and we'll delete your data for you. We reply within 3 business days. You can also remove PlanNook's iCloud data yourself in iOS Settings, then your name, iCloud, Manage Storage, PlanNook.
If you used Sign in with Apple, you can also stop PlanNook from using your Apple ID in iOS Settings, then your name, Sign-In & Security, Sign in with Apple.
Common questions
What is PlanNook?
A family calendar for iPhone, built for playdates, camps, birthdays and parent events. You can type a plan in plain words, find times that work with friends, and share a calendar with grandparents or caregivers.
Is PlanNook free?
Yes. Version 1.0 is free, with no ads. If we add optional paid features later, they will be offered through the App Store and clearly labelled.
What do I need to use it?
An iPhone running iOS 17 or later, and an Apple ID signed in to iCloud. PlanNook uses Sign in with Apple.
Does PlanNook send what I type to an AI service?
No. In version 1.0, smart typing runs entirely on your iPhone. The sentence you type is not sent to us or to any AI service. If that ever changes, we'll update our privacy policy and tell you in the app first.
How does "Plan it like you say it" work?
Open the Create tab and type or say something like "Leo's birthday party Saturday 2pm, turning 6". PlanNook fills in the day, time, place and child. Always check the result before you tap save, because it can misread unusual wording.
What does PlanNook do with my Apple Calendar?
If you allow access, PlanNook reads your Apple Calendar on your iPhone to find open windows for playdates. It's read on the device and your Apple Calendar events are not uploaded.
What do friends see when we use Find a Time?
Only free or busy blocks. They never see event names, places or details. This is different from sharing a calendar (next question).
Who can see a calendar I share?
When you share a PlanNook calendar with someone, such as a grandparent, they can see the events in that calendar, plus the first names and ages of the kids you picked. You choose the kids and the end date. Anyone who has the link or code can open it, so share it only with people you trust. See and remove access under Settings, then Manage Calendar Access.
How do I stop sharing a calendar?
Go to Settings, then Manage Calendar Access, pick the person or code, and tap Revoke. They lose access right away.
I entered a share code and it doesn't work.
Enter the code in the Friends tab (Enter Code). Codes are 8 characters (letters and numbers, no 0, O, 1 or I) and expire on the date the sender chose. Check for typos, ask the sender to confirm it hasn't expired or been revoked, and try again.
Can I use PlanNook with my partner or co-parent?
Yes. Share a calendar with them using a link, QR code or code. You decide what they see and for how long.
Is it safe to put my kids' names in the app?
PlanNook stores your kids' first names, ages, avatars and interests in your own iCloud, and only puts them in a shared calendar or invite if you choose to share. We don't sell or advertise with this information. Read the privacy policy for details, including the section on children.
My data isn't syncing.
Check that you're signed in to iCloud, that iCloud is turned on for PlanNook (iOS Settings, your name, iCloud, Apps Using iCloud), and that you have iCloud storage and an internet connection. Then force-close and reopen PlanNook.
Voice input isn't working.
In iOS Settings, then PlanNook, make sure Microphone and Speech Recognition are allowed. Voice input is processed on your device.
I got a new phone. How do I move my data?
Sign in with the same Apple ID on the new iPhone and install PlanNook. Your family data is kept in your iCloud and will come back.
I found a bug or have an idea.
