PlanNook Terms of Service

Last updated: November 4, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Nook Labs (Shweta Khatri), Canada ("we", "us") about your use of the PlanNook app and the website at plannook.app. By downloading or using PlanNook you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use PlanNook.

1. Who can use PlanNook

PlanNook is for parents and caregivers. You must be the age of majority where you live (18 in most places) and able to enter a binding contract. Children must not use PlanNook on their own. You are responsible for the information you enter about your children and confirm you have the right to enter it.

2. Your licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use PlanNook on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement and the App Store rules. If these terms and Apple's licence conflict, Apple's licence wins on the points it covers. Apple is not responsible for PlanNook or its support, and Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms.

3. Free to use

PlanNook 1.0 is free. If we introduce optional paid features, they will be sold through the App Store at the price shown there, and Apple's purchase and refund terms will apply. We will not charge you for something you already use without telling you first.

4. Your account and your content

5. Sharing

When you share a calendar, send an invite or give someone a code or link, you decide who gets it. Anyone with a share link or code can view that calendar until it expires or you revoke it, so share carefully and revoke access when it's no longer needed. You're responsible for getting any permission you need from other parents before you add their children or details to a share or invite. We aren't responsible for what the people you share with do with information you let them see.

6. Acceptable use

Please don't:

We may limit or end access if these rules are broken.

7. Smart features may make mistakes

PlanNook tries to understand what you type or say and turn it into an event, and to suggest free times. It can get things wrong. Always check dates, times, places and kids before you save, and confirm important plans directly. PlanNook is a planning aid. It is not an emergency, safety, medical or childcare service, and its calendars and reminders may be late or fail, for example because of your device settings, iCloud or network.

8. Our property

PlanNook, its name, logo, design and software belong to Nook Labs and are protected by law. Except for the licence above, we don't transfer any rights to you. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without obligation to you.

9. Disclaimers

PlanNook is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms takes away any rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.

10. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Nook Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, missed events or lost profits, arising from your use of PlanNook. Our total liability for any claim relating to PlanNook is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which is nothing for the free version) and CAD $50. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud or gross negligence.

11. Ending things

You can stop using PlanNook at any time and delete your account in the app (Settings, then Account, then Delete Account). We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or if we stop offering PlanNook, and will give reasonable notice where we can. Sections that by nature should survive (such as 8, 9, 10 and 13) will survive.

12. Changes

We may update these terms, for example when we add features. We'll change the date above and, for meaningful changes, tell you in the app. If you keep using PlanNook after the change takes effect, you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and courts in Ontario will have jurisdiction, except that if you're a consumer you keep any right to bring a claim in your home jurisdiction where the law gives you that right.
